Argentines love to celebrate holidays. Since we've arrived, they've feted Children's Day, Day of the Friend, Teacher's Day, and next week, on the first day of Spring, will be Day of the Student. They actually celebrate Day of the International Friend, as well. Very excited about that one, although I'm sure the actual translation is something more like "Day of the gringo whose Spanish is horrific."
In honor of our furniture delivery, today this house will celebrate "Day of the careful Argentine movers who hopefully speak a tiny bit of English."
We packed out our house on June 22nd, so I can't even remember what we put in the shipment and what was sent to storage.
Here's hoping that everything makes it in one piece, and that we get our beds, sofa and tv and not pool toys and patio furniture!
