It's all very confusing--Easter, pastels, crisp weather, leaves changing colors, a bunny named Pedro. The fall weather makes it feel like Thanksgiving is on the way, not Easter.
The Embassy's annual Easter egg hunt was held at the Ambassador's residence, and that place is just ridiculous. We felt a little under dressed and Jed Clampett-like when we arrived. Several hundred eggs were hidden on their spacious grounds and while the kids frantically looked for the empty plastic eggs, moms and dads mingled at the wine and beer table and had their own little pre-Easter celebration. The kids turned in their eggs at the end for a goodie bag. Smart. No clean up necessary.
The gathering was the first time in 8 months that we've socialized with a group of Americans, and it was strange. When we go to Argentine events (mostly kid's birthday parties) we leave with headaches. Partially because kid's birthday parties are just loud and obnoxious. Mainly, though, it's exhausting to strain to listen to Spanish conversations over the noise and to formulate halfway understandable responses while listening to the next round of conversation.
This was a pleasant little language vacation. The fact that the bunny wasn't at all creepy was just icing on the Easter cookie.
The egg toss. They lasted for a toss and a half. Eggs do not bounce.
This little hedge maze was the plastic egg jackpot.
The appallingly tiny ambassador's residence.

I totally need to be an ambassador! And the bunny rivals the one from Donny Darko. Creepy! :)
That looked like a very fun day! And Teague looks so cute searching for the eggs and sitting with the Easter Bunny.
