I have driven past the Dezer Car Collection Museum display a thousand times and never thought much about it. The display makes it appear as though the museum is tiny and made up of 5 or 6 vehicles. What I didn't know is that several blocks behind the display is the actual Miami Auto Museum, and on a rainy day, we decided to check it out.
If you like 80s tv shows and movies, this place is a must-see! There are so many original movie cars housed in the museum there's barely enough room to walk around. The highlight, and there were many to choose from, had to be Kitt, from Night Rider. But they also had Mr. T's A-Team van, Speedracer, all of the Batman vehicles and the Miami Vice Ferrari. An entire separate warehouse was dedicated to all of the cars (and even some helicopters) from the James Bond movies.
It's crazy to me that this place is not more popular, but aside from the lackluster display on Biscayne Blvd, I have never once seen any advertising for it. While we were there (it spanned several hours!) we saw exactly one other person! This is definitely one of Miami's best kept rainy day secrets!
Weirdly, his eyes glowed for the Ghostbusters picture.
The rad DeLorean from Back to the Future. I was hoping they'd have Michael J. Fox's puffy vest on display too.
Who wants a ride with this mustache?
Only a small sampling of the James Bond items!
Teague's best Vanna White impression.
As Sean says...there's always an Elvis reference.
