Vizcaya Gardens

Ah, Miami! The Jeep top is officially off, and we're enjoying top-down weather. This will explain my Chaka Khan hair for the next few months.

Last weekend we saw Vizcaya in Coral Gables. It is one of the last grand old estates in the area and has now become a museum. It was built in the early 1900s and still has much of its original posh furniture, though some of it was actually being treated for termites while we were there, with tiny little termite tents. The extensive gardens are grand and slightly smaller scale than some of the famous gardens in Europe. The garden maze proved to be most fun for Teague, who ran through it a few (4!) times.
