Only in Argentina

Tierra Santa (Holy Land) is a religious theme park in Buenos Aires with the world's largest animatronic nativity scene...and Jesus' resurrection is shown hourly. It is a really interesting place to visit, but it's also just slightly bizarre. If you go during Easter week, the people watching is second-to-none; a mix of tourists looking for things to do while the rest of the city is closed down and those making actual pilgrimages.
The description of Tierra Santa threw me off, because the words "theme park" are usually associated with things like rides and cotton candy. Before you go thinking that we spent all day on the 7 Deadly Sins coaster, I should explain that this place is really more liked a theme museum, with various religions on exhibit. It features mock ups of choice Biblical stories, but also has a section dedicated to Ghandi & Martin Luther. There is also a replica of the ark of the covenant, a wailing wall, a mosque, a synagogue and a pizzeria and bar. A little something for everyone.
A true Argentine miracle, turning water into soda.

Teague and his diva friend. And a sheep.

Tierra Santa's wailing wall, complete with separated areas for men and women.

Everyone wants to take a picture with Jesus.

The "Jesus pardons the adulterous woman" display.
Try explaining this to a 5 year old!

This is awesome! I think the Argentinean wailing wall would really go over well here in Israel.

This has got to be the coolest theme park I have ever seen! The randomness just might be enough to get me down to BA! Thanks for sharing!
