April is the "Month of the Military Child", and as this month comes to a close, it only seems fitting to mention our military kiddo. Seven years ago, Teague's first move was a 14-hour flight from Seoul, South Korea to LAX. Since then, he has lived in Arizona, Argentina and Miami. He will likely finish 2nd grade in a new location, which is yet to be determined. As a mother, it's heartbreaking. I wish he had family nearby and that he could be in the same town at at the same school with the same kids from nursery school. This is not possible, for now. However, the trade off is not too shabby--his global perspective is quite broad & he is an awesome little ambassador! He has been exposed to many languages and cultures. While he has traveled to a lot of amazing places, he has also learned a lot about people in need and the advantages of living in the US.
The mantra of a military child is to adapt and overcome. They experience constant changes in their lives; new friends, new schools and new homes.They have no choice as to where they live or when they leave, they just roll with the punches. Again and again. I am so proud and thankful that, so far, Teague adjusts well to new surroundings and that he makes friends wherever we go. I'm also really proud of his bravery. His positive attitude and strength motivate me to ensure each move we make is a fun adventure rather than a defining life event.

I'll never forget when you arrived at the airport in Tucson with that precious little guy. Can it really be 7+ years ago? He's turned out to be a true Air Force "brat" in the very best sense of the word.xo
