The past few weeks have been jam-packed with school parties and presentations and now, in the blink of an eye, Teague is a 2nd grader!
To recap his final semester, his class performed for us the fabulous "Adjective Song", complete with jazz hands for Mother's Day.
It was eerily similar to Sean Hayes' signature "Just Jack" performance. The kids were pretty excited the first go round, but Teague's teacher didn't know how to turn it off after they finished, so we got to watch it on loop for what seemed like hours. It's the same sort of hell as Chuck E Cheese.
Next, Teague completed his ABC Occupation Project. What began as month-long block about careers turned into the bane of my existence. Each student was required to come up with an occupation for every letter of the alphabet. Then, they had to write a mini- report and draw a picture for them all. Teague's not a big fan of writing anyway, so it was pretty painful. I know the big question on everyone's mind--what career starts with the letter "W"? Water slide tester, naturally.
The students then chose the occupation they'd like to have as a grown up and gave a presentation to the class. Teague wants to be a pilot to do the aerial stunts, but not any of the "war stuff". We practiced the night before, and the morning of, and when I arrived in the classroom, he was in full panic mode because he had lost his speech card. We found it and he did a good job!
He had such a great year, and just loved his teacher and his friends. We are fortunate to live in such a small close-knit community--many of his class buddies live close by.
His summer requests include indoor bouncy house jumping, swimming, more swimming and lots of bike riding.
I can't wait!
His other front tooth fell out too.
